Meet Jenny, an adorable little girl from the Philippines, who was recorded walking her blind dad, Nelson Pepe, with a wooden stick to a farm every morning so he could work. The touching clip has gone viral!
A Facebook user posted the touching three-minute clip along with the caption, “This is the story of blind man named ‘Dodong’ together with his 5-year old daughter, at her young age she keeps on helping her father to guide his way to the farm and way back home.”
“Please try to help them by sharing this video. This is an inspiration to all,” Rubylyn Capunes Pabillion added.
Jenny, who is just 5, guides her dad barefoot around a coconut farm in Sogod, Southern Leyte, using a long wooden stick.
Then with her help, her dad pauses to have some crackers and water.
Hardworking Pepe climbs 60 coconut trees everyday, making him just Php300 (approx. US$5.54), reported ABS-CBN News.
He just wants to provide for his family and doesn’t let his blindness get in the way.
The heartwarming footage showing the little girl’s devotion and love for her dad has been shared over 50,000 times on social media!
The video of the loving father and daughter has made thousands around the world emotional!
Even “Rate K”, a magazine show by ABS-CBN, were touched by the clip and tried to hunt them down to offer their help.
When they tracked them down, they made sure to bring Pepe to Manila so he could finally diagnose his tragic eye-condition.
Pepe found out he has retinal detachment and retinitis pigmentosa, a rare genetic eye disease.
Staff at “Rate K” were extremely kind and relocated Pepe and his wife, and his three kids to a safer environment, as well as providing medical help and livelihood training.
On top of that, Pepe was generously given Php10,000 (US$189.95) so he could open his own sundry store in the neighborhood!
We’re so happy this loving family are now living the life they deserve!
