A man has made the biggest statement to his future daughter by including her in the proposal to her mother.
Grant Tribbett, 29, decided that proposing to his girlfriend, Cassandra Reschar (26) wasn’t quite enough, and included her 5-year-old daughter Adrianna too.
The couple met on Facebook, with Grant knowing full well that Cassandra was a single mum. It was one of the reasons that endeared him.
“Honestly it was one of the many qualities she has that captured my heart,” Grant told TODAY.
The young family took a trip to Cracker Barrel and then to Ritchey Woods Nature Preserve in Fishers, Indiana. The two ladies had no idea what was in store for them!
After walking a mile into the woods, they came to a bridge, where Grant dropped down onto one knee to pop the question.
Shortly after, her friend and professional photographer Mandi Gilliland jumped out from hiding to capture this special moment.
Cassandra accepted the proposal, but Grant wasn’t done yet.
“Grant got back down to propose to my daughter” Cassandra wrote. “He said, ‘Adrianna, can I be your daddy, to promise to love and protect you for the rest of your life?”
The little girl thanked her future dad before replying, “Yes! I finally get a daddy, Mommy!”
Grant presented Adrianna with a heart necklace which he had chosen specifically with her favourite colours. The necklace represented his lifelong devotion to being a dad.
Cassandra told TODAY, “His proposal to Adrianna meant the absolute world to me. In my opinion, it’s special to find a man whom your soul loves, but to also find a man who loves your child unconditionally was a dream I never thought could come true.”
The family are now looking forward to their special day, and Adrianna has a very important role of being a flower girl!
There will also be a very special father-daughter dance at the ceremony.
For this little girl, not only will she see her mother have the happiest day of her life, but she will also gain a father at the same time. For any fatherless child, isn’t this just the greatest blessing they could ever have hoped for?
