While most of us take our education for granted, this little girl from the Philippines, who was born with one leg, is inspiring thousands across the world with her determination.
Every day, Jean Arija Daipal walks 4km back and forth from school just to receive her daily education.
Having one leg makes the journey even tougher for little Jean, but she doesn’t let this get in her way.
The distance and her disability is no feat for the Filipina, who shows such tenacity and strength every single day for the sake of her education. She’s extremely determined to succeed in life!
Her efforts haven’t gone unnoticed, and her remarkable determination has been shared by her principal, Junar T Mahilum, on Facebook.
Junar is her head at the Department of Education (DepEd) in Toboso, Negros Occidental in the central Philippines.
He told internet users he even awarded her for her efforts!
He is always impressed by her perseverance and determination to attend school, despite her physical limitations.
She’s completed her six years of elementary education at the school!
Junar shared how Filipina Jean is willing to do anything to fulfil her dreams.
However, apparently Jean wishes she will be able to have a prosthetic leg one day to make her journey that little bit easier.
She also wants to become a doctor one day to help others like herself.
Currently, she walks to school using a pair of wooden crutches—it certainly can’t be easy, especially as she has to travel such a distance!
Junar’s touching post quickly went viral on Facebook, and many netizens commended her efforts. One even offered to pay for a prosthetic leg for her!
We hope Jean can get one soon to make things that little bit easier for her!
